Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a remote role. You will lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems, own schematics, BOMs, and drive design reviews while collaborating across multiple teams.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in electrical design, and experience with NEC/UL standards. Travel up to 20% within the USA is possible; company offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
5+ years of industrial electrical design or electromechanical systems experience.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls, and system integration.
Experience designing specs for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
Experience selecting and validating electrical components using NEC, UL, and derating criteria.
Proven design documentation, reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
Translate system requirements into practical, robust electrical designs.
Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and bills of material.
Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams.
Mentor early-career engineers and reinforce electrical design standards.
Support project planning, effort estimation, and execution.
