Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Remote) to join a team of engineers delivering high-quality power and control systems for North American clients. You will lead design and validation, own schematics, BOMs, and calculations, and collaborate across mechanical, systems, and manufacturing groups.

Candidates should have a BS in EE and 5+ years of electrical design experience, with hands-on work in switchgear, NEC/UL standards, ETAP/SKM; travel up to 20% within the USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of industrial electrical design experience.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls, and system integration.
• Experience with switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Familiar with NEC, UL, and derating criteria; design documentation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
• Translate requirements into robust electrical designs.
• Own schematics, drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Drive design reviews, prototypes, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce standards.
