Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a remote team focusing on high-quality electrical design and validation across major subsystems. You will own schematics, calculations, specifications, and BOMs while driving design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with mechanical, systems, manufacturing and sourcing teams, plus mentoring early-career engineers and staying current with power systems and energy tech

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering required.
• 5+ years of industrial electrical design experience.
• Knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring and controls.
• Familiarity with NEC and UL criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
• Translate system requirements into practical, robust electrical designs.
• Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications and BOMs.
• Drive design reviews, prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing and QA teams.
• Mentor early-career engineers and reinforce design standards.
• Support planning, effort estimation and project execution.
• Stay current with power systems, microgrids and energy tech.
