Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter (Contractor) to translate academic content for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a virtual setting.

Candidates may be asked to obtain licensure in multiple states and serve across multiple schools as an independent consultant (1099). The role requires fluency in ASL, collaboration with IEP teams, and flexibility to support live online instruction, meetings, and extracurricular activities while maintaining professional standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification issued by RID and/or state educational interpreter licensure.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate live virtual instruction to support D/HH students.
• Adapt language for individual student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and care teams to ensure IEP compliance.
• Provide expressive and voice interpretation for classroom content and activities.
• Interpret for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain professional standards per RID Code of Ethics.
