Job summary

Stride, Inc. seeks a part-time Sign Language Interpreter (Contractor) to translate academic content for D/HH students in a virtual educational setting. This 1099 Independent Consultant role supports IEP-driven services across multiple schools and is remote, open to residents nationwide.

Required are ASL fluency, RID certification or state licensure, and experience interpreting in educational environments, with strong collaboration and scheduling abilities to fit within school hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification issued by the RID and/or state licensure.
• Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate live, synchronous virtual instruction per IEPs.
• Adapt language for students with hearing loss.
• Collaborate with teachers and caregivers to ensure IEP compliance.
• Attend IEP meetings as an integral member of the team.
• Provide expressive and voice interpretation of classroom instruction.
• Interpret for school activities outside of virtual classroom and meetings.
