Job summary

Ovation Healthcare seeks an Emergency Department Coder to code and abstract diagnoses and procedures from ED records for timely reimbursement and quality reporting. This 100% remote role supports hospitals and health systems with precision and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of coding experience, strong ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS skills, and credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CPC). Remote work experience is preferred; commitment to confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Medical Coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
• Experience with remote work environments.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for ED records.
• Abstract data for billing, regulatory agencies and databases.
• Review records for clinical pertinence and documentation to support accurate charges.
• Communicate with providers for documentation clarification to ensure proper coding.
• Review and resolve ED claim edits to ensure compliant billing.
• Assist with coding errors for other outpatient visits as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with policies.
