Job summary

Ovation seeks an Emergency Department Coder to code and abstract diagnoses and CPT/HCPCS charges from ED records for accurate reimbursement and reporting. This 100% remote role requires RHIT/RHIA or CPC/ CCS credentials and 3+ years of coding experience in a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with providers to ensure documentation supports proper E/M levels and will work with AR teams to resolve claim edits, maintaining confidentiality and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC or equivalent credentials.
• Three or more years of hospital coding experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and CPT/HCPCS coding.
• Remote work experience preferred and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for ED records and charges.
• Abstract data elements for billing, regulatory reporting, and databases.
• Review documentation for accuracy of diagnoses and E/M levels.
• Communicate with providers to clarify documentation as needed.
• Resolve claim edits and ensure compliant billing and confidentiality.
