Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Remote ED Coder & ER Charging for a contract role within Health Information Management. The position requires ICD-10-CM coding expertise for ED charges, familiarity with the 3M encoder and EPIC EHR, and a CCS credential.

On-boarding is 1–2 weeks with ramp-up to full productivity. Candidate must have 5 years of acute care ED coding experience, Level I Trauma experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years recent acute care hospital Outpatient ED Coding and ED Charging experience.
• Recent Level 1 Trauma experience.
• Extensive knowledge with recent 3M 360 and EPIC software.
• CCS Credentials required by client. Can also have other credentials with CCS such as CPC, RHIT, RHIA, etc.
• Strong communication (written/verbal)
• Must be technically savvy.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM coding systems and monitors bill hold reports.
• Code ED charges and have recent E/M and I/I charging experience.
• Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary.
• Perform duties as assigned; extensive knowledge of 3M encoder and EPIC EHR is required.
