Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Remote Facility ED Charges Coder to perform accurate charging of ED visits, CPT/HCPCS, and related procedures from medical records in a teaching trauma system.

The role requires 5+ years of medical coding experience, credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, RHIA/RHIT or CPC/COC/CPC-H, and proficiency with Facilities Coding Standards to meet productivity and accuracy standards. This is remote, with pay between $28 and $35 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires AHIMA or AAPC credential: CCS/CCS-P or RHIA/RHIT or CPC/COC/CPC-H.
• Must be proficient with Facilities Coding Standards.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in medical coding.

Responsibilities

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of CPT, HCPCS coding principles and third-party requirements.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of state health planning and development guidelines and internal coding guidelines.
• Able to code Acute Care Outpatient Charts, including ED E/M and injection/infusion charges.
• Seek proper documentation when services are not documented adequately.
• Maintain 95% overall accuracy rate and productivity standards.
• Review queue daily and communicate corrections as needed.
• Charge or pending every chart in the queue and keep credentials current.
