Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks an Emergency Call Handling (ECH) Field Engineer to implement and support on‑premise and cloud solutions nationwide. This remote role requires up to 75% travel across the US and international destinations, with strong independent work and customer collaboration.

Responsibilities include configuring ECH systems, performing site verification, documenting changes, and supporting migrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering/technical environment.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA Network+/Security+).
• Experience with cloud-based troubleshooting, connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/AD).
• Experience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting of server virtualization (RedHat KVM, VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V).
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016.
• Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2.
• Windows 10 & 11.
• Linux.
• Cisco IOS network switches.
• Fortinet FortiGate firewalls/routers.
• Telephony knowledge related to analog lines and PRI; Active Directory knowledge.
• Self-management and independent work within deployment teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs system configuration for ECH solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS apps.
• Performs site verification testing prior to production cutover.
• Configures and troubleshoots connectivity between local infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Provides support to customers and partners during deployment.
• Documents changes to solution, cloud configurations, and API integrations.
• Ensures installation/quality issues are resolved promptly.
• Participates in Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and upgrades.
• Engages in pre-contract presentations and customer negotiations.
• Maintains SME skills in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies.
