Humana, Inc. is seeking an E-Referral Specialist to manage referrals, ensure eligibility, and coordinate with branches and leadership. This full-time, remote role requires strong data handling, communication, and timely follow-ups in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will support the continuity of care, work with e-referral systems and EPIC, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining productivity and attendance in a primarily remote setting.

Qualifications

• Must type 40 words per minute or more.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports with basic math.
• Strong communication skills across all management levels.
• Able to manage time and meet strict timelines.
• Attention to detail across multiple screens and systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor multiple e-referral systems to identify new referrals and manage alerts and notifications.
• Monitor email for requests to pull referrals from all applicable referral systems and perform follow-ups.
• Scan documentation to determine patient eligibility for services (service area, orders, insurance, etc.).
• Monitor status of referrals, follow up throughout the process, and report weekly.
• Communicate with branch, sales, and leadership for status updates and decisions.
• Daily management of ERST log with all referrals and decisions.
