Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking an E-Referral Specialist to support the referral process, ensuring timely data collection, compliance, and follow-up for initial referrals and decisions. This remote, part-time role supports continuity of care and cross-functional communication.

The position requires 40 wpm typing, proficiency in MS Office, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple systems and tight timelines. On-site travel to Humana offices may be needed occasionally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Typing speed of 40 wpm or faster.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact with all management levels.

Responsibilities

• Monitor multiple e-referral systems to identify new referrals and manage alerts and notifications.
• Monitor email for requests to pull referrals from all applicable referral systems; perform follow-up and manage communications.
• Scan documentation to determine patient eligibility for services (service area, orders, insurance, etc.).
• Monitor status of all referrals; follow up and report status weekly.
