Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a District Systems Engineer, Commercial, to serve as a trusted technical advisor within the sales team. You will provide pre‑sales support, architect security solutions, and demonstrate the value of our cybersecurity platform to commercial customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in pre‑sales/sales engineering and/or completion of the SC Academy
• Understanding of data networking, security architectures, and modern cloud computing environments
• Experience in delivering cybersecurity solutions that solve technical challenges and influence new business initiatives is preferred
• Influencing and gaining buy‑in from key stakeholders, either in a customer‑facing or internal role; prior experience in a pre‑sales role is ideal
• Creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or technical validation engagements
• Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions: Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP and/or SOC Transformation Technologies
• Partnering with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions
• Experience in complex sales involving long sales processes with multiple buying centers and multi‑product solutions are preferred
• This is a field sales position where travel requirements may be required to support in person customer meetings, please discuss with the recruiter on the specifics for this position.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and align security solutions with customer needs
• Architect security solutions addressing customer challenges across networks, cloud, and security operations
• Demonstrate value of Palo Alto Networks platform and drive technical wins
• Lead PoC engagements and technical workshops to validate solutions
• Collaborate with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams for smooth deployments
• Communicate complex security concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders
• Coordinate with Specialists, Channel Partners, and Customer Support to drive customer success
• Promote end‑to‑end security solutions including partner services to enhance security posture
• Stay ahead of industry trends and evolving threats to position the company as a cybersecurity leader
• Develop platform expertise across SOC, Cloud, NGFW, SASE, and Unit 42 offerings
