Job summary

Amgen is seeking a District Sales Manager to be the liaison to medical professionals, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen products. This role focuses on delivering a strong, compliant sales strategy within the district and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve targets.

The ideal candidate has deep specialty sales experience, knowledge of biologics, and proven leadership skills to coach district teams toward high performance and career growth within Amgen’s mission to serve

Qualifications

• Three+ years of specialty sales experience.
• Experience in biologics.
• Buy and bill model experience.
• Ability to coach and develop talent.
• Knowledge of local payor coverage.
• Ability to discuss clinical concepts, data and conclusions.
• Ability to recruit qualified candidates.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, resource allocation, and program effectiveness.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and meet sales targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure training compliance and ongoing development.
• Coach and counsel individuals for future roles.
• Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate with district and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, BU).
• Share best practices with reports and peers.
• Coordinate and participate in cluster teams.
• Lead district sales meetings to guide districts.
• Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to align objectives.
