Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer who can work remotely within reasonable commuting distance of the Hagerstown/Williamsport, MD area.

This role supports the Utility Services team on JU pole attachments and distribution design projects for the region. The position involves preparing construction packages for overhead and underground systems, assisting with 2.4kV–34kV designs, and developing drawings and proposals with QA/QC adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year ABET accredited college or university in engineering; electrical preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of electric utility primary/secondary distribution systems and standards.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or FE exam completed preferred; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Assist with distribution line design from 2.4kV to 34kV.
• Prepare drawings, modify existing drawings, or create as-built documents.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Provide technical support for customers and assist regional business development.
