Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer for a REMOTE WORK role supporting Pennsylvania utility projects. You will prepare distribution packages, assist with line design, drawings, estimates, and client support, while ensuring QA/QC and safety standards.

Opportunity to work remotely with occasional field work, travel as needed, and collaboration with Designers and Engineers on JU, DSIC, and LTIIP programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Experience or knowledge of electric utility distribution systems.
• EIT/FE exam completed or in progress preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with MS Office, GIS, and design software.
• Willingness to travel for projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Assist with distribution line design 2.4kV–34kV.
• Develop drawings and as-built documents with designers/engineers.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Provide technical support to customers and regional business development.
• Ensure QA/QC and perform quality reviews of work.
• Evaluate equipment loading and safety considerations for cost-effective design.
• Prepare calculations and equipment specifications.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
• Work remote/office with field work as required.
