Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer for the Utility Services team to support projects in Pennsylvania.

The role offers REMOTE WORK arrangement and involves field data capture, design using client software, and coordination with utilities for pole attachments and power delivery improvements. Ideal candidates have field/utility experience, ability to work from home, and comfort with field surveys and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years fieldwork or construction experience
• Associate degree in engineering or related discipline with 0-2 years interest in fieldwork/surveying
• Organized, able to manage data from start to finish on a project
• Strong communication for project status updates
• Proficient with MS Office and design/business software
• Able to read engineering drawings and understand electrical distribution concepts

Responsibilities

• Visually identify and record equipment and construction situations in the field
• Apply NESC standards and client guidelines to design jobs (Pole Replacements, Joint-Use)
• Analyze field data and update design software for implementation
• Use Client software to support the design workflow and permitting process
• Communicate with clients and team to determine best design solutions
• Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget with status updates
