Job summary

Leidos in Michigan is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers with a focus on electric utility design engineering. You will work with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables, gain exposure to NESC and GIS-based workflows, and support both field data collection and office design activities across OH, UG, URD and other projects.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders while operating

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant distribution engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial.
• Experience working with electric utilities or electric utility consulting on design engineering for distribution.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Familiarity with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, and protection coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects.
• Manage scope, schedule and budget of assigned work.
• Review design packages with clients and gather feedback.
• Coordinate field data collection for work package development.
• Support continuous workflow improvements to enhance quality.
