Job summary

Leidos in Michigan seeks Distribution Engineers & Designers to design electrical distribution systems for utility customers, including OH, UG, URD, and street lighting. The role blends field and office work and requires collaboration with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables.

You'll work with GIS, Maximo, CAD tools, and design standards while coordinating with multiple utilities. Remote-working capabilities are available, with in-person visits as needed across Michigan.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred).
• Experience working with electric utilities or electric utility consulting.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and WMS systems.
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work.
• Design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, DDS.
• Review engineering design packages with clients.
• Coordinate field data collection and support client requirements.
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes to drive efficiency and high-quality outcomes.
