Job summary

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers in Michigan. You will perform design engineering for electric utility projects, develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Street Light installations using GIS and WMS systems, and manage scope, schedule, and budget.

You will coordinate with clients and may travel within Michigan as needed. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering, and familiarity with NESC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of prior relevant experience in electric utility design engineering.
• Experience working with electric utilities or consulting firms on design projects.
• Knowledge of NESC is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and WMS systems (DDS, GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, Maximo).
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work.
• Review engineering design packages with clients.
• Coordinate field and office tasks; travel within Michigan as needed.
• Initiate continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Support coordination of conflicting utilities and large design packages.
