Job summary

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers in Michigan to design electrical distribution systems for utility customers. You will work with GIS/WMS tools and coordinate with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables while managing scope, schedule, and budget.

The role blends field data collection with design work in both office and customer sites, with opportunities for professional growth and advanced credentials like PE or PMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• 2+ years of prior relevant experience working with electric utility design.
• Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) required or highly desired.
• Experience with coordinating utilities and field engineering design in distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers and develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and WMS systems.
• Manage scope, schedule and budget of assigned work and review engineering design packages with clients.
• Design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, and DDS; perform planning and follow-up with customers.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and develop large design packages for complex projects in dense urban environments.
• Support field data collection and be comfortable with field and office work settings.
