Job summary

EDB is seeking a senior security leader to run Security Operations and Security Engineering, reporting to the CISO. You will own threat detection, incident response, and the engineering that scales these capabilities across cloud, products, and acquisitions.

You’ll partner with Governance, IT, and Product to embed preventive controls, build scalable playbooks, and drive automation. This remote-first role supports a growing, global security program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience leading security teams
• 7+ years hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering
• Track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth and automation
• Ability to translate technical risk into business impact for executives and partners

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end incident response and severity modeling, with legal coordination
• Lead detection engineering and oversee SIEM/EDR/SOAR/cloud security platforms
• Define security engineering strategy focused on preventive controls and least privilege
• Oversee insider threat program in collaboration with HR/Legal/IT
• Drive automation and AI-enabled tooling to extend analyst capacity
• Ensure security integration for acquired companies and new environments
• Collaborate with IT and Product to embed preventive controls into platforms and pipelines
• Scale the security program design, rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy
