Job summary

EDB is seeking a Senior Security leader to oversee Security Operations and Security Engineering, reporting to the CISO. You will shape threat detection, incident response, and preventive controls across cloud and on-prem environments, partnering with IT and Product to embed security into pipelines and products.

You will drive a scalable program as the company grows, building a world-class security function with its people, processes, and technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience leading security teams.
• 7+ years hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering.
• A track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth (hiring, automation, and operating discipline).
• Strategic thinking that goes beyond the immediate scope of the role.
• The ability to translate technical risk into business impact for executives, legal, customers, and IT/Product counterparts.
• Comfort in a global, remote-first environment with flexible schedules and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Incident response end to end, from intake and severity model through after-action and improvement.
• Detection engineering, threat hunting, and the SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and cloud security platforms that support them.
• Security Engineering strategy and delivery to prevent incidents with preventive controls and least privilege implementation.
• Develop the insider threat program in collaboration with HR, Legal, and IT.
• Develop automation and agentic AI to extend analyst capacity while the analyst maintains ownership of decisions.
• Integrate acquired companies and new environments into EDB's security standards.
• Collaborate with IT and Product leadership to embed preventive controls into platforms, pipelines, and products, and provide security input to third-party risk and device posture with GRC.
• Scale the program through org design, operating rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy.
