Job summary

EDB is seeking a security leader to own Security Operations and Security Engineering, reporting to the CISO. You will drive threat detection, incident response, and the engineering that scales preventive controls across products, cloud environments, and acquisitions.

You will collaborate with Governance, Risk & Compliance and App Security teams and partner with IT and Product to embed security into roadmaps. This is a scaling role with global, remote-first expectations.

Qualifications

• Leads security teams with proven management experience.
• Hands-on expertise in security operations, incident response, detection or engineering.
• Proven track record scaling security functions during rapid growth.
• Strategic thinking beyond the role scope and business impact translation.
• Ability to communicate risk to executives, legal, customers, IT and product teams.
• Comfort with a global, remote-first environment and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end incident response and improve after-action programs.
• Drive detection engineering, threat hunting, and SIEM/EDR/SOAR platform work.
• Shape security engineering strategy focused on preventive controls and least privilege.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, IT to advance insider threat programs.
• Develop automation and AI-assisted security workflows to boost analyst capacity.
• Integrate security standards when acquiring new companies and environments.
• Partner with IT and Product leadership to embed preventive controls in platforms and pipelines.
• Define org design, rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy to scale security coverage.
