Job summary

Optiv is seeking a Director, Security Engineering to lead the practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and other platforms in the MSS and AFC delivery models. You will guide architecture, detection content, data pipelines, and SOAR orchestration while driving efficiency and client outcomes.

You will mentor leaders, manage budgets and staffing, and partner with executives to align security engineering with service delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Advanced security certifications such as CISSP/CISM are preferred.
• 10+ years in information security and managed services environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and related platforms.
• Own MDR, co-managed SIEM, data engineering, and Tier 1 engineering triage.
• Define platform architecture, detection standards, data pipelines, and SOAR orchestration.
• Drive continuous improvement, apply automation, and manage staffing and budgets.
