Job summary

Optiv Security Inc. seeks a Director of Security Engineering to guide the engineering of SIEM, EDR, SOAR and other security platforms within MSS and AFC. You will shape technical direction, architecture, and detection-content standards while mentoring managers and engineers across teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with executives, clients, and vendors to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and scalable security outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Advanced security leadership certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) and platform vendor certifications appreciated.
• 10+ years in information security and professional/ managed services.
• Demonstrated leadership of security engineering or MSS delivery teams.
• Experience across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and other platforms.
• Experience with practice management and offering/sales enablement.
• Experience driving scale via security automation and orchestration.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and travel less than 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and related platforms.
• Own the technical direction, architecture, and standards for MDR and co-managed SIEM offerings.
• Mentor and develop senior managers and engineers; drive cost, quality and client experience improvements.
• Set governance, SLO adherence, and drive automation and orchestration across platforms.
