Job summary

talisman is seeking a Director of MEP Engineering to lead and scale its national building services practice. This fully remote leadership role oversees technical direction, delivery quality, and commercial performance across multiple states.

You will mentor a distributed team and drive business development while ensuring coordination with architectural and structural partners to deliver constructible, code-compliant designs.

Qualifications

• PE license with multi-state licensure or ability to obtain via comity.
• Experience winning and delivering work with a track record you can point to.
• Strong command of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building codes; fluent in BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP practice across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design.
• Own practice P&L: utilization, forecasted fees, resourcing and margins.
• Act as engineer of record and senior technical authority on complex schemes; QA/QC oversight across jurisdictions.
• Build and mentor distributed project teams with clear development paths.
• Drive business development: relationships, proposals, and repeat work from key accounts.
• Collaborate with architecture and structural teams to deliver constructible designs from concept through construction administration.
• Guide energy modeling, decarbonization, electrification and code compliance.
