Job summary

Blattner Company is seeking a Director of Commissioning for our Gas Power Generation team. This remote/traveling role leads the commissioning process across multiple projects, developing plans, managing teams, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

The candidate will oversee performance testing, system balancing, and testing protocols, while driving standards, coaching managers, and coordinating with executives and field leaders.

Qualifications

• Four-year construction management, engineering or related degree.
• Five or more years of directly relevant experience with utility-scale natural gas power generation, heavy industrial, or EPC field execution.
• Strong understanding of construction engineering and design concepts.
• Understanding of electrical construction and power delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of the commissioning process, including functional performance testing and system balancing.
• Develops and implements comprehensive commissioning strategies aligned with project goals.
• Establishes commissioning standards and best practices across the company.
• Collaborates with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Monitors activities to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Develops commissioning plans and schedules for each project.
• Mentors and develops subordinate project managers.
