Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations in the United States. The role reports to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety and includes driving behavior-based safety, governance of EHS standards, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with a client-focused mindset.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive a proactive safety culture with engagement and accountability.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation processes.
• Govern EHS management systems using data analytics and digital tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal governance of standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership across sites.
• Travel 50% domestically.
