Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across its manufacturing facilities. This role reports to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety and oversees enterprise EHS initiatives with a focus on a proactive, error-free safety culture.

The successful candidate will drive risk assessment, establish governance of EHS standards, and mentor cross-functional teams while coordinating with Standard Logistics EHS staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years of management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy across sites.
• Drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture with engagement and accountability.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation, embedding PSM and industrial hygiene best practices.
• Govern EHS systems and data analytics to monitor and improve safety performance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and proactive auditing of standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership with quality training programs.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
