Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will define and implement an enterprise EHS strategy, drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture, and ensure rigorous governance of safety standards.

The role reports to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and supports EHS staff. Key responsibilities include leading risk assessments, implementing remediation actions, coaching leaders, and ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years EHS experience with 5 years in management.
• Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs while focusing on client success.
• Openness to change and ability to motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across all sites and engage employees.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation with PSM and industrial hygiene.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems using data analytics.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and governance of safety programs.
• Oversee incident investigations and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership; ensure updated training programs.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
