Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is recruiting a Director of Origination & Structuring to lead the commercial lifecycle for utility-scale battery energy storage assets. This remote role requires deep BESS knowledge, top-tier transaction execution, and a broad network across utilities and data center customers.

Responsibilities include market mapping, deal structuring, negotiations, and handoff to internal teams, with a focus on strategic partnerships and risk-adjusted commercial structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated capability considered.
• 10+ years of energy origination, power marketing, or related commercial experience.
• Proven track record in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions.
• Deep understanding of U.S. power markets, BESS revenue models, and market design.
• Established network across utilities, data center developers, hyperscalers, banks, and traders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute origination strategy across priority U.S. power markets.
• Source, qualify, and advance new business opportunities with utilities and large buyers.
• Originate and structure commercial arrangements for BESS assets.
• Lead relationship development, proposals, pricing, and term-sheet discussions.
• Build and maintain a disciplined origination pipeline and milestones.
• Coordinate with Development, Finance, Legal, and Leadership on opportunities.
• Monitor market developments impacting BESS commercialization.
• Represent the company externally at meetings and industry events.
• Provide market intelligence and transaction strategy to leadership.
