Job summary

Urban Grid Solar Projects, LLC is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of BESS Development to lead technical and commercial development of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will serve as the technical authority, optimize designs, and support financial close through cross-functional collaboration with Construction, Procurement, Interconnection, and Offtake teams.

You will define system architectures, evaluate proposals, negotiate supply/service agreements, and oversee supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of direct utility-scale BESS development, operations or sales.
• Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery technology, BESS system architecture, PCS, EMS and interconnection.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of standalone and hybrid BESS project development from early-stage through start of construction.
• Coordinate technical and commercial inputs into financial models and contracts.
• Identify project technical risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Define system configurations including AC/DC architecture, storage duration, and EMS topology.
• Lead supplier management, bid evaluations, and long-lead equipment procurement.
