Job summary

CU Medicine is seeking a motivated Coder with a focus in Diagnostic Cardiology to join the Coding Services team. This role allows 100% remote work and consideration of out-of-state candidates.

You will review documentation, assign ICD-10-CM/CPT-4/HCPCS codes, and prepare charge captures for claims submission under CMS guidelines, with supervision from the Coding Services Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• AAPC/AHIMA certification within 1 year of hire; CPC-A acceptable.
• Prior clinical background or medical coding education required.
• Basic coding principles, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology knowledge.
• Knowledge of claim system edits and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation to validate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes with modifiers when needed.
• Verify procedures and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS as appropriate.
• Process charges within 24–48 hours of clinic completion.
• Ensure charges comply with CMS/state/local regulations.
• Maintain ≥95% accuracy and meet production standards; reconcile GE billing charges.
