Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a skilled Medical Coder with a focus on Cardiology and Electro Physiology coding. This remote role offers flexible telecommuting across the United States and hands-on coding for outpatient services.

Requirements include 5+ years in cardiology coding with ICD-10/CPT, AHIMA or AAPC credentialing, and proficiency in Windows, Excel, and EMR systems. Strong work ethic and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) to be maintained annually.
• 5+ years of experience with cardiology coding with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Intermediate experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for outpatient hospital professional accounts.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all Cardiology and Electro Physiology services.
• Monitors assigned work queues to ensure all records are charged/coded in a timely manner.
• Generates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed.
• Stays abreast of all changes in coding conventions and coding updates.
• Ability to manage significant workload, and to work efficiently under pressure meeting established deadlines with minimal supervision.
