Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a remote Medical coder to assign diagnostic and procedure codes for Primary Care and Family Medicine. You will use CPT and ICD-10 coding, monitor queues, and generate queries to ensure accurate documentation.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and 2+ years of coding in Windows environments with EMR systems (Epic preferred). Eligible for telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) renewed annually.
• 2+ years PC use in Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding with focus in Primary Care and Family Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging/coding.
• Generates coding queries for clarification as needed.
