Job summary

Reach Out and Read Northwest is seeking a Development Specialist to advance grant proposals, reports, and donor stewardship. After onboarding, you will draft foundation and corporate proposals, review program data, and ensure funders are thanked and kept informed.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Associate Director of Development and cross-team coordination. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in Washington State, with a compensation range of $70,000–$75,000 annually and

Qualifications

Approximately two to three years of nonprofit fundraising experience with writing responsibilities.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading to craft funder narratives.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate across teams.
Experience with donor databases (Salesforce) and reporting.
Commitment to equity and serving underserved communities.

Responsibilities

Draft and edit grant proposals and reports for foundation and corporate funders.
Coordinate grant reporting, gather program/financial data, and meet deadlines.
Maintain templates, boilerplate language, and Canva-designed materials.
Enter and maintain grant and donor data in Salesforce; run regular reports.
Support donor stewardship and communications following funder expectations.
