Job summary

Reach Out and Read Northwest is seeking a Development Specialist to advance grant writing and donor stewardship. The role starts with onboarding and grows to lead writing of foundation and corporate proposals, while coordinating reporting and maintaining templates.

You will work remotely from Washington, collaborating with the Associate Director of Development and program teams to meet funder commitments and build a portfolio of grants over time.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading to translate program impact into funder narratives.
• Collaborative approach across teams to meet deadlines and maintain data accuracy.
• Experience with donor databases and running reports.
• Familiarity with Asana, Canva, and Salesforce is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn programs, funders, and proposal library; draft foundation/corporate proposals and reports.
• Write and edit grant proposals; adapt boilerplate and translate impact.
• Coordinate grant reporting; gather information; prepare drafts; ensure timely submissions.
• Maintain templates and resources, including Canva materials.
• Support prospect research and funder qualification.
