GovCIO is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex VA initiatives, including VistA transition and EHR modernization. This fully remote role requires strong problem-solving, rapid learning, and collaboration across diverse teams in a fast-paced federal civilian environment.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of work experience (or 10 extra years in lieu of degree) and experience with remote, geographically dispersed teams, agile environments,

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• 15+ years of work experience required.
• 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the required degree.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a remote environment.
• Experience in operating in an agile environment is desirable, but not required.
• Experience within a large Enterprise Health IT environment, specifically with VA.
• Clearance: Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Mansioni

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day program execution, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder commitments.
• Coordinate activities across technical SMEs, Data Analysts, Technical Writers, project teams, government stakeholders, and partner organizations.
• Translate client requirements and strategic direction into actionable plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, issues, and resource requirements across multiple concurrent activities.
• Identify emerging requirements, challenges, and develop practical solutions before they impact delivery.
• Ensure team activities, risks, and milestones are tracked and communicated to leadership.
• Assist in development of executive briefings, status reports, presentations, and project plans.
• Facilitate cross-functional reporting and meetings, drive actions to closure, and maintain accountability.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and extension of project leadership.
