Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Deputy Project Manager for complex VA initiatives, including VistA transition and EHR modernization. The role is fully remote across the United States, with standard business hours and occasional weekend support during deployments.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years in project leadership, experience with federal civilian agencies, and ability to translate strategy into actionable plans. A Suitability/Public Trust clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline.
15+ years of work experience are required; 10 years may substitute for the degree.
Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a remote environment.
Experience collaborating with development, engineering, and project management teams.

Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager in day-to-day program execution and priorities.
Coordinate activities across SMEs, Data Analysts, project teams, and stakeholders.
Translate client requirements into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and resources across multiple activities.
Develop executive briefings, status reports, and project plans for leadership.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings and drive action items to closure.
Identify process improvements and innovative execution approaches.
