Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the Project Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of VA initiatives, including VistA transition and EHR modernization. This role is fully remote within the United States with core hours 8-5 ET and periodic weekend support during deployments.

The ideal candidate has federal civilian project experience, strong communication, and the ability to translate strategy into action.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or related field.
• 15+ years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience leading remote, geographically dispersed teams.
• Ability to translate client requirements into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day program execution and stakeholder commitments.
• Coordinate across technical SMEs, data analysts, writers, and government stakeholders.
• Translate strategy into priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, and resources across multiple activities.
• Identify emerging requirements and develop practical solutions before delivery.
