Job summary

FormativGroup is seeking a Data Sales Solutions Engineer to lead the technical evaluation journey with prospective clients. You will understand clients' data ecosystems, demonstrate capabilities, and guide PoC engagements to prove business value and technical fit.

In this highly consultative, client-facing role you will partner with delivery teams, shape solution approaches, and influence product direction while driving modernization, governance, and migration outcomes for regulated industries.

Qualifications

3+ years in Solutions Engineering or similar client-facing technical role.
5+ years working with modern and legacy data ecosystems.
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT technologies (Informatica, Talend, DataStage).
Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata, Azure/AWS).
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery sessions with data/analytics/architecture leaders.
Assess environments for data migration risks and lineage challenges.
Demonstrate capabilities and articulate business value to technical and exec audiences.
Own PoC engagements from planning through completion.
Design solution approaches addressing modernization, governance, and migration goals.
Respond to technical questions about architecture, security, and governance.
Collaborate with FormativGroup delivery teams to ensure seamless sales-to-implementation transition.
Provide customer feedback to influence product direction and roadmap.
