Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to protect institutional data across cloud and on‑premise platforms. The role emphasizes encryption, access control, data masking, and secure data pipelines in a 100% remote setup from approved states in the U.S.

You will work with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, and SQL Server, reporting to the Deputy CISO, contributing to threat modeling, policy enforcement, and incident response as part of a collaborative IT

Qualificações

• 7+ years in information security, cloud engineering, or data security.
• Experience with data protection lifecycle: classification, encryption, and access controls.
• Proficient in SQL, database security configurations, and cloud data platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Implements data protection controls across enterprise data estate.
• Configures encryption for data at rest and in transit; manages keys/secrets.
• Implements least-privilege access models and conducts entitlement reviews.
• Harden security configurations for Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, SQL Server.
• Secures data ingestion, transformation, and data sharing workflows.
• Automates deployment, validation, and compliance activities.
• Provide hands-on security support and runbooks; collaborate across teams.
