Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain its data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with DLP/DSPM tools such as Purview, Forcepoint, BigID and Varonis to safeguard sensitive information and support security posture.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to policies, standards, and procedures while staying current with HITRUST, NIST, HIPAA requirements and industry best

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis
• 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining DLP infrastructure
• 5 years of experience creating and managing DLP policies
• 3 years of experience with at least two programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell)
• 3 years of experience designing and providing architectural support for two cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-53/83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL 3
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security or related field

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, deploying DLP, DSPM, and data de-identification solutions
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions for on-prem and cloud environments
• Configure and maintain data protection policies including sensitive information types and detection parameters
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Participate in projects with testing, implementation, and documentation
• Use PowerShell and Python to automate deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with team members to expand data protection expertise
• Stay current with data protection technologies, industry best practices, and compliance requirements
