Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to join the Data Protection team. You will implement and maintain DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions across on-prem and cloud environments, collaborate with senior engineers, and help shape security posture.

You will work with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, Varonis, Windows, Linux, and GKE, developing policies, troubleshooting incidents, and contributing to projects while staying current with industry standards and compliance

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software's.
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell etc.)
• 3 years of experience with designing and providing architectural support to at least two cloud providers: GCP, AWS or Azure
• Strong teamwork and inter-personal skills
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL 3
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field
• Advanced cloud certification in GCP/AWS/Azure (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect/Security Engineer)
• Travel required
• Office-based or remote position

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms, deploying DLP, DSPM, and de-identification.
• Collaborate on design/implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies across platforms, including sensitive information types and detection tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data protection incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to data protection projects with testing, implementation, and documentation; participate in meetings.
• Use PowerShell, Python to improve efficiency and support deployment and maintenance of data protection software.
• Collaborate with team to expand knowledge of data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
