Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain the organization’s data protection infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure). You will work with Microsoft Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis to safeguard sensitive information and ensure HIPAA compliance.

The role involves troubleshooting incidents, contributing to policies and standards, and collaborating with senior engineers to design scalable DSPM/DLP solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention and Information Security.
• 3 years of experience with modern programming languages (Python/Java/JavaScript/BASH/PowerShell).
• Experience with two cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Advanced cloud certification (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors (DLP, DSPM, de-identification).
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies across platforms and tune detection parameters.
• Troubleshoot incidents with root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Use PowerShell and Python to automate deployment and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team to expand knowledge of data protection tech.
• Stay current with relevant data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
