Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and operate the organization’s data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud platforms. The role focuses on DLP, DSPM, data de‑identification, and policy management, working with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID and Varonis.

You will troubleshoot incidents, contribute to engineering standards, and partner with senior engineers on complex projects while maintaining HIPAA and related security requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention
• 5 years of experience with Information Security
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell)
• 3 years of experience with designing and providing architectural support to at least two of GCP, AWS or Azure
• Strong teamwork and inter-personal skills
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83 cyber security framework, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, and ITIL
• Master's degree and bachelor's degree requirements

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms
• Configure DLP/DSPM and data de-identification solutions
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions
• Work in on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Configure and maintain data protection policies and detect parameters
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Assist with testing, implementation, and documentation of projects
• Write PowerShell/Python scripts to improve deployment efficiency
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements
