Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement, maintain, and operate data protection infrastructure and applications across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with senior engineers to design and implement DLP/DSPM solutions and policies, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to security posture improvements.

The role requires hands‑on experience with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, Varonis, Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis
• 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software
• 5 years of experience creating and managing DLP policies
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell etc.)
• 3 years of experience with cloud design for at least two of GCP/AWS/Azure
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL 3
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 5 years of Information Security/Governance/Compliance with hands-on engineering
• Master's degree in related field
• Advanced cloud certifications (GCP/AWS/Azure)

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, deploying DLP, DSPM, and de‑identification solutions
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Configure and maintain data protection policies, sensitive information types, and detection tuning
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation
• Use PowerShell and Python to automate deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with team to expand data protection knowledge
• Stay current with evolving data protection technologies and compliance requirements
