Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain DLP and DSPM across on-prem and cloud environments. You will work with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis, ensuring secure data handling and policy enforcement.

Strong scripting (Python/PowerShell) and cloud experience are required. The role emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers, incident response, and ongoing policy improvement to meet HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards in a hybrid/remote-friendly

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5 years creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years in at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.).
• 3 years designing architecture for two cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Master's degree in related field.
• Advanced cloud certifications (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Travel and remote/office flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms, deploying DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain data protection policies across platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data protection incidents with root cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Use PowerShell or Python to improve deployment efficiency and automation.
• Collaborate to expand knowledge of data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection tech and evolving compliance requirements.
