Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Data Platform Engineer to drive modernization of a healthcare data platform. You will steer a cloud-native AWS architecture, migrating from MSSQL XML stores to scalable AWS services, enabling fast SQL-based reporting for business stakeholders.

You will collaborate with a back-end C#/.NET team and implement CI/CD and IaC with AWS tools, while documenting data flows and architecture for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Experience migrating cloud data platforms in production.
• Ability to design SQL data layers over XML/JSON data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the healthcare data platform modernization.
• Architect AWS-native data storage and query layers for XML object stores.
• Build reporting and query layers for business users.
• Design migration path from MSSQL XML object store to AWS platform.
• Maintain data catalogs, schemas, and metadata for discoverability.
